Many thanks to the generous donors who supported our ThinkFirst Navajo runners at the 2017 Shiprock Half Marathon in May. We raised more than $2,000, which allowed us to teach more than 250 Navajo children how to stay safe and avoid traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries over the summer. September is National Spinal Cord Injury Awareness Month
The U.S. Senate has designated September as National Spinal Cord Injury Awareness Month. Every 48 minutes someone in the U.S. is paralyzed from a spinal cord injury. Approximately 1.3 million individuals in the United States live with a spinal cord injury and millions of people worldwide are living with paralysis.
