They also pedaled for miles on Reservation roads…gained valuable skills in basic woodworking, first aid, and bike maintenance…and learned about the history and geography of the Navajo Nation.
Tour de Rez participants using their new woodworking skills to make much-needed trail signs |

Eve’s Fund has been a proud supporter of the Tour for several years because it promotes health and wellness among Native youth. This year, our contribution was used to support trail restoration in the Carrizo Mountains, extending new routes over five miles from T’iis Nazbas into the Carrizo high country. The kids worked hard creating and clearing trails, making signs and markers.
You can see more heartwarming photos from this year’s Tour de Rez on the group’s Facebook page.
All grandmothers should be so lucky. Elders are respected and loved by Navajo youth. |
