Happy and grateful Navajo Prep students surrounding Betty Ojaye, the school’s director (2nd row center), & Jodee Dennison, Eve’s Fund program director (3rd row center) and a $10,000 check from the Eve’s Fund Scholarship Program.
For the 8th consecutive year, Eve’s Fund for Native American Health Initiatives has donated funding for scholarship students at Navajo Preparatory School in Farmington, New Mexico. This year’s check for $10,000 was the largest to date.
Scholarship recipients are chosen based on financial need, scholastic potential, and leadership skills.
Betty Ojaye, the school’s director said: “We are grateful to Eve’s Fund for their ongoing commitment to our students—many of whom come from rural areas and extreme poverty—and would not be able to attend our school without financial assistance. The scholarship is making a huge difference in their lives.”
Eve’s Fund president, Barbara Crowell Roy said: “We are honored to be able to assist these wonderful students in fulfilling their educational goals. We feel confident that the majority of these young people will become leaders in their fields and will remain committed to their relatives, their communities and to their Navajo culture .”

“We are grateful for the generosity of our donors and their trust in the importance of the work we are doing in our beloved daughter Eve’s name and memory,” Eve’s mom, Barbara also said. “Eve truly valued education and believed in equal opportunity for all. As a corporate attorney, she devoted a lot of her time to providing pro bono work for indigent individuals and communities.”
